Itinerary

Itinerary
29th October - Depart Sydney on QF 63 at 10.35am for Johannesburg.  Depart Johannesburg at 7.50pm on BA 6403, arriving in Capetown at 10pm.   Accommodation at Hotel on St Georges.

30th October- Cape Town
Morning visit to the historical  part of the city. Visit the flower sellers in Adderley Street and then on to Company Gardens opposite the Houses of Parliament. Then on to Greenmarket Square, a vibrant flea market for local art,, crafts, fabrics and artifacts. transfer to V&A Waterfront for shopping before catching the ferry to Robben Island. Accommodation: Hotel on St Georges.  B

31st October - Cape Town
Drive over Chapman's peak and on to Boulders or Penguin point at False Bay. Continue on to Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve to see the most southern point of the African Continent. Evening is at leisure. Accommodation: Hotel on St Georges.   B

1st November - Cape Town - Stellenbosch - Cape Winelands
After breakfast travel to Table Mountain and cable car ride to the top of the mountain.A visit to Signal Hill will be an alternative if the weather is poor on Table Mountain. On to Stellenbosch which is famous for its Cape Dutch Architecture and Uncle Samie's Store. Continue through to the Winelands and the town of Paarl for check in. Accommodation: Lemoenkloof Guest House.   B/D

2nd November - Winelands
A day in the Winelands with spectacular scenery and two separate wine-tasting venues.

3rd November -  Oudtshoorn
Stop for lunch in Barrydale on Route 62 in the Klein Karoo. Visit the Safari Ostrich show farm.
  Accommodatin: De Oude Meul Country Lodge   B/D

4th November - Cango - Plettenberg Bay
Guided tour this morning of the Cango Caves, including the underground wonder of the Klein Jaroo. Then on to the Cango Wildlife Ranch which is an endangered species breeding facility. On to Plettenberg for overnight stay.   Accommodation: Country Crescent Hotel     B

5th November - Plettenberg Bay -Port Elizabeth.
Travel to Monkeyland, the world's first free-roaming multi-species primate sanctuary. Continue on to Port Elizabeth stopping at the Storms River suspension bridge in Tsitsikamma National Park.

6th November - Port Elizabeth-East London
Travel to Addo Elephant Park. This is now a sanctuary for over 550 elephants, lion, buffalo, black rhino, spotted hyena, leopard, antelope and zebra. Overnight in the seaside town of East London.

7th November - East London-KwaZulu-Natal
Travel inland to Himeville in the foothills of the Drakensberg Mountains.
Accommodation:  Sani Pass Hotel & Leisure Resort.   B/D

8th November - KwaZulu-Natal-Sani Pass
Travel up the pass in 4x4 vehicles, climbing to 2874 metres in 2.5 hours. Passports will be required to enter Lesotho. We will have lunch at the highest pub in South Africa, the Sani Top Chalet. We will visit a Basotho village to learn about Lesotho and its people. Traditional beer and homemade bread will be available on request.

9th November - KwaZulu-Natal Coast-Durban
Head towards Durban in the morning via the coast. After lunch, travel to Hluhluwe.

10th November - Hluhluwe
A day safari in the Hluhluwe Game Reserve, stopping for lunch at a restaurant in the Reserve. The Park is 96,000 hectares in size and contains the Big 5

11th November - Hluhluwe
Visit Duma Zulu village to experience authentic hospitality and learn about traditional arts, crafts and way of life of the Zulu Kingdom. Continue on to St Lucia wetland and board the cruise boat for a tour of Lake St. Lucia. (crocodiles and hippos) The wetland park is a World Heritage area with a variety of landscapes.

12th November - Swaziland
Travel towards the Lavumisa border post to ender the Kingdom of Swaziland.

13th November - Mpumalanga - Malelane - Hazyview
Travel over Pigg's Peak and through the mountainous scenery of Swaziland on to the border post at Jeppe's Reef where we enter the Province of Mpumalanga. Travel to Malelane near Kruger National Park and then through part of the park to Hazyview

14th November - Kruger National Park
Early morning departure for a full day safari in open vehicles

15th November - Panorama Route i Pilgrim's Rest.
This is a spectacular journey through the northern part of the Drakenberg Ranges and passes the north eastern part of the Great Escarpment. Visit God's Window, Bourke's Luck Potholes and Blyde River Canyon.Some casual time in the afternoon to explore the mining town of Pilgrim's Rest.

17th November - Johannesburg - Australia
Morning at leisure for sightseeing in Johannesburg. Depart Johannesburg at 5.50pm on QF64 arriving Sydney at 2.45pm on the 18th November.
